How do I get food to feed my pets?
First, please review our Assistance Guidelines for eligibility (below). You will receive two weeks worth of food, for a three month period, picked up the last Sunday of every month. After three months, your situation will be re-evaluated if further assistance is needed. If you have any other questions please request additional information please send an email.
Cat Food
We can provide both canned and dry cat food, as well as cat litter. We provide food ONLY for indoor, domestic cats. At this time we do not provide food for the feeding of feral cats. Anyone who does so will lose their ability to receive food from the Pet Chow Pantry. We have nothing against feral cats but our program is to help people in financial need to keep their pets in their homes, rather than surrender them to shelters. To this end, we need you to comply with using the food only to feed your domestic household kitties! We thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
Dog Food
The Pet Chow Pantry can provide dry dog food, and occasionally canned dog food. We can never guarantee that we will have a specific brand in stock when youcome, but we will always try to accomodate your brand requests!
Special Diets
Food will also be available for pets with special diets if we can source what is needed in time for your pick up. Please let us know ahead of time if you require special feed for your pet. We can not guarantee that we can get it, but every effort will be made to assist you in getting that diet for your pet!
Other
Occasionally we will have access to other types of food. if you need help with horse feed, goat, pig, or bird - whatever your needs - please let us know so that we can try to obtain it for you.

- We consider special requests for certain formulas or flavors of dog and cat food (ie. Senior, Indoor, etc), but are only able to give what we have at the time the request is made.
- You must pick up your food at our location in Goshen. We are unable to offer pet food deliveries at this time; but are looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping us start this service (Please contact us if you would like to help with this).
- We are providing a service to the community and ask that recipients receive only as much food as they need.
- We accept all kinds of pet food. By accepting food and/or services from the Pantry, the recipient, all household members, their friends and family agree not to hold the Pantry, its staff, volunteers, and benefactors legally liable in the unfortunate event the recipient's pet(s) becomes ill or the food upsets the pet's stomach.
- When one receives pet food from the Pantry, they are made aware of the potential risks involved with feeding their pet(s) a new food, since it may be that the pet food received is not the recipient's usual brand(s). We cannot be held responsible for any illness of your pet.
Frequently asked questions:
- Can you bring the food to me?
In some situations we may be able to work this out, if a volunteer or another food patron lives near you and is willing to deliver it, but in most cases this is not possible. We hope to make this a possibility in the future and if you would like to volunteer to deliver food to people who are not mobile, we welcome your help. Please contact us and offer this assistance.
- Can I have both dog & cat food?
Yes! We will help you feed all the animals in your care whenever possible. Please be sure to request all the food that is needed to help you take care of all your pets. Please also be sure to advise us of any special diets, special needs, or special animals you might need so we can try to procure those diets in the future, if we do not have them now.
How do I know if I qualify?
Come on down! Stop by and let us take a look at your paperwork. If you are unemployed, low income or on disability you are likely eligible!
